Janey and Greg operated Buena Vista Art in Grafton, Illinois for 11 years. Greg designs and makes steampunk, cyberpunk and industrial art lamps and tables. They were recognized as an Illinois Maker business in 2018 by the Illinois Tourism Bureau. They closed their shop in Grafton in late 2020 and recently moved to Highland. While in Grafton Janey served as the President of the Grafton Chamber of Commerce for several years and they were both actively involved in the community and look forward to becoming involved in the Highland Chamber of Commerce. They are lifetime members of the Highland Arts Council as well.

Highland Masonic Lodge #583 is made up of men of character from every walk of life that seeks to "make good men better". Chartered in 1868, the Lodge is one of 450 lodges in Illinois and with over 3 million members nationally. Freemasons belong to the largest and oldest fraternal organization in the world.
The Lodge meets at the historic John Wildi Masonic Temple located on the corner of 9th and Walnut Streets in Highland at 7:00 pm on the first Thursday of the month.

Built in 1912, The Lory Theater has been showing movies to the residents of Highland since the movie industry came of age. Prior to that, the Theater was
a live entertainment facility used for everything from plays to vaudeville shows. With current seating available for 230 in the main theater and 98 in the second, the theater is the primary new movie source for Highland and the surrounding area.
Renovated by local couple Justin and Hillary McLaughlin, The Lory RE-OPENED on Dec 26th 2012. They now feature new clean bathrooms, state of the art digital picture and sound, and a welcoming family atmosphere.
