 Veterans Day Program

     On Thursday, November 14, 2024, join us at Louis Latzer Memorial Public Library for a riveting 30-minute Veterans Day event at 6:00 p.m. about the Thirteen Folds of our American flag.  Krystle M. Huelsmann, assisted by others who served in the military,

will present this informative program.  It is free and open to the public.  All ages 0-100 are welcome.  In the words of Oliver Wendall Holmes, "One flag, one land, one heart, one hand, one Nation, evermore."



Book Club meets on the 4th Thursday of each month from January through October.

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary Invites

Community to Gift Shop’s Christmas Open House

 

HIGHLAND, Ill.— HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary are inviting community members to the hospital’s annual Gift Shop Christmas Open House on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15.  Just for this sale, the Gift Shop will be open special hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

During the open house, the Gift Shop is offering 20% off storewide (some exceptions may apply). The Gift Shop, adjacent to the hospital lobby, offers a variety of Christmas and home décor, toys, jewelry, apparel and purses for purchase.

 

In addition to the sale dates, St. Joseph’s Gift Shop will also be offering special holiday extended hours of operation Nov. 18 through Dec. 24. The Gift Shop will be open 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during these dates.

Anderson Hospital 

Sporting Clay Classic Hosted a Record Number of Shooters at Nilo Farms  

 

The Anderson Hospital Foundation 13th Annual Sporting Clay Classic was held on October 12th at NILO Farms in Brighton Illinois.

The event featured 100 targets and 12 stations on two courses to accommodate the large number of shooters, the event also included a large BBQ buffet for the shooters.

We had 201 shooters, which was a record amount, that came out on a beautiful fall day to enjoy this event. We thank the Sporting Clay Committee who worked hard to make this event a success and the sponsors that donated to this event and who continue to support us each year, said Lori St. John, Director of Development

The event raised over $55,000.00. The Foundation allocates funds for capital projects and programs in support of Anderson Hospital.

The 14th annual Sporting Clay event will be on October 18th, 2025 at NILO Farms. Please contact Lori St. John at 618-391-6426 for more information.

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is now accepting applications for the 2024 John Lewis Youth Leadership Award (JLYLA)! The award honors the impact of the extraordinary accomplishments of Congressman John Lewis. The Illinois Secretary of State and NASS are seeking young Illinoisans ages 18-25 who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and a strong commitment to civic engagement.
