October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2024 (Tuesdays): Lego Club meets from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Create, design, and explore. This is open to children ages 3 through 12.
September 30, October 1, 7,8, 21, 22, 28, and 29 (Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.): Miss Josie provides a fun, exciting A.M. Preschool storytime with stories and crafts each week. (Please note there is not a storytime offered on October 14 and 15 this month.)
October 25 (Friday): Treats on the Streets 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
We will be participating in the Highland event around the Square! Our stop is in the Children's Library (down the ramp).
Book Club meets on the 4th Thursday of each month from January through October. |

| Early Cancer Detection is the Best Protection HSHS Answers Common Breast Cancer Myths
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) wants to shed a light on common myths concerning breast cancer and mammogram detection screenings.
Recent research compiled by the American Cancer Society indicates breast cancer cases have continually risen, by 1% annually, from 2012-2021. During this time frame, researchers also discovered that the demographic seeing the largest increase in breast cancer diagnosis was women under the age of 50. HSHS encourages all women 40 years and older to put yourself first and schedule your mammogram.

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary Invites Community to Gift Shop’s Christmas Open House
HIGHLAND, Ill.— HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary are inviting community members to the hospital’s annual Gift Shop Christmas Open House on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15. Just for this sale, the Gift Shop will be open special hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the open house, the Gift Shop is offering 20% off storewide (some exceptions may apply). The Gift Shop, adjacent to the hospital lobby, offers a variety of Christmas and home décor, toys, jewelry, apparel and purses for purchase.
In addition to the sale dates, St. Joseph’s Gift Shop will also be offering special holiday extended hours of operation Nov. 18 through Dec. 24. The Gift Shop will be open 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during these dates. |
